  • Creativity Comes Alive

on our stage and in our studios
As one of the top arts programs in the country, Rabun Gap prepares and inspires performers and artists to pursue their passions.
The arts program is fully committed to project-based learning and focuses on inspiring self-confidence and an appreciation for creative expression. Rabun Gap offers many opportunities for student performances and exhibitions. In addition to daily classes in visual arts, graphic design, performance, dance, film, vocal, orchestral music, and technical theatre, Rabun Gap students participate in many productions in an extracurricular format. This includes our unique Cirque program and our award-winning musical.
Our alumni have landed opportunities in animation, film, television, galleries, museums, the music industry and on the Broadway stage. Our arts faculty all have practical experience gained from working in the industry. Our dedicated Arts & Technology Building is a hub for arts classes and activities. It includes the 600-seat Rearden Theater, dance, music, and art studios, the Blackbox Theater, and scene shop.
The fine and performing arts are a cornerstone of the Rabun Gap experience in all divisions. Rabun Gap arts education begins in the Lower School with visual arts and strings classes. In Middle School, students can take performance electives and Cirque afterschool, building foundation for the arts that culminates in an expansive and exciting collection of educational arts opportunities in our Upper School.
Rabun Gap offers students of all ability levels the opportunity to grow, learn, and create. It is our mission to cultivate skills, explore artistic interests, and encourage a lifelong love of the arts.
