More community. More independence. More experiences. More friendships.
The boarding experience at Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School prepares students for life in college and beyond. Our boarding students are right in the center of the action - steps away from the library, athletic fields, dining hall, and workout facilities. They also have access to our amazing outdoor facilities including Indian Lake, a climbing tower, ropes course, and hiking trails. Boarding students also enjoy regular weekend trips to the theater, restaurants, shopping malls, sporting events, and cultural festivals. There's never a dull moment for our boarding students!

At boarding school, there is plenty of time to hang out with friends - whether it's catching a bite to eat at a local restaurant or hanging out at the dorm.
Be close to the action
Our boarding students live just steps from class, the gym, the pool, the library, athletic fields, and, most importantly, the dining hall!

Sled down Hodgson Hill
Snow days are so much fun at Rabun Gap! Be the first ones to sled down the iconic Hodgson Hill.
Around 80 percent of Upper School students are a part of the boarding program. Our boarding community is very unique because we're home to students from more than 50 countries. Boarding students have the opportunity to connect with roommates from across the globe.
Our Residential Faculty
Faculty members at Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School all serve in the dorms. Students will have a one-on-one connection with their teachers and dorm parents. Our residential faculty members are there to nurture and guide boarding students through their personal, academic, and social lives. They become extended family, opening their doors and sharing their families, their pets, and their hearts. Great care is taken to aid students in developing effective study habits and social skills that will allow for meaningful relationships with peers and adults.
Prospective students shouldn’t be worried about making friends, and definitely shouldn’t be worried about not getting used to things. There are prefects and dorm parents to help you, and students from all over the world wanting to make friends with you.

Being so far from what you have called home for so long is definitely not easy. However, boarding at Rabun Gap is definitely worth all the challenges that the process of boarding brings with it. Those obstacles not only helped me explore parts of myself that I was never aware of, but also helped me bond with the people I call my second family now.
