Wrestling came to Rabun Gap Nacoochee School in 1987 but died out in 1992 due to lack of interest and the rise in popularity of pro-basketball.
With the reinstatement under head coach Jamey Ledford during the 2012-2013 school year, the program has experienced exponential growth in numbers and success in just a few short years. The Eagles won back-to-back CAA Conference Dual Championships in 2016 as well as 2017 and have gone from being the afterthought in the North Carolina Independent School Athletic Association to a top ten team with 20 individual conference champions, 12 state placers, a highly competitive middle school program, an emerging youth team, and a wrestler at the collegiate level.
Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School is a private, coeducational day and boarding school for grades Pre-K through 12, located in Rabun Gap, GA.
