Varsity Football Earns Runner Up Title

For the first time in program history, varsity football advanced to the Division 1 NCISAA State Championship where they took second place.

It was an excellent season for the team as they finished with a 7-2 record under first year Head Coach Joe Sturdivant.  In the championship game, the team battled hard until the end against No. 1 seeded Charlotte Christian.  They came back from a 21-7 halftime deficit to tie it 21-21 in the fourth quarter.  In a close finish, our Eagles came away with the runner up title.

Darren Agu ‘22, Lukas Majer ‘23, Coleman Bryson ‘22, Dom Sojat ‘21, Aiden Semo ‘22, Linus Zunk ‘22, Kyle Ormsby ‘21, Remez Lockhart ‘22, Ole Krebs ‘22, and Tucker Holloway ‘22 earned spots on the All-State teams.  Coleman earned the Defensive Player of the Year Award, Dom earned the Most Valuable Player Award, and Pato Torres ‘21 earned the Offensive Player Award.
