Faculty members traveled to Seattle over December 4-7 to attend the People of Color conference in Seattle, WA.
Mr. Amani, Ms. Aguirre, Ms. Shoates, Mr. Pearson, Mr. Bryson, Mr. Zannou and Ms. Christie traveled to Seattle, WA to attended the People of Color conference, sponsored by the National Association of Independent Schools, over December 4-7.

The theme of the conference was "1619. 2019. Before. Beyond. Amplifying our intelligence to liberate, co-create, and thrive."

"The experience at the People of Color conference was refreshing," said Mr. Pearson. "One of the most important workshops I attended was called 'Why Not Now? Exploring Race, Identity, and differences in Early Childhood.' The presenters were two teachers from the National Child Research Center school. Their research and teaching practices showed that our early learners need to develop a diversity lens that centers around empathy."
