Grace Lopez joins Rabun Gap College Counseling Office

New Associate Director of College Counseling Mrs. Grace Lopez joins Rabun Gap.
We are happy to welcome our newest addition to Rabun Gap, Mrs. Grace Lopez, Associate Director of College Counseling!

Mrs. Lopez will work in the College Counseling Office with Mrs. Cheryl Barber.  She comes to Rabun Gap from Georgia Tech, where she was a Senior Admission Counselor.  Mrs. Lopez earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from Southern Adventist University.  She lives in Clayton, GA with her husband Omar and their 9-month-old daughter, Ella. Omar works at Pace Academy in Atlanta with the school's Inclusion and Diversity Program.

“When I first met and talked with Grace I felt like she was the perfect addition to the counseling program,” said Mrs. Barber. “I know that she will bring a wonderful perspective and admission experience to support our students. I am thrilled to welcome her to the team!” 

Mrs. Lopez comes to Rabun Gap with extensive college admissions experience with Georgia Tech and the University of Miami. She has traveled to 23+ countries and across the U.S.  reviewing college applications. She has also been a part of scholarship review committees, honors program eligibility committees, and an accelerated medical school admission program committee.

“I am new to Rabun Gap but I have definitely felt a sense of community and inclusion that makes me excited about being here,” said Mrs. Lopez. “I cannot wait to work with students and collaborate with staff and faculty across campus.”
