Local surgeon speaks to students who are interested in STEAM fields.
The Science Department in the Upper School regularly hosts STEAM Seminars that expose students to educational and career pathways in science, technology, engineering, design, and mathematics. In the most recent seminar on April 3,  Dr. Stephen Jarrard, MD, a surgeon based in Rabun County, came to speak.

Dr. Jarrard shared his educational and career path in medicine, as well as his experiences as an Army surgeon in Afghanistan. Three students with interest in medical careers will be shadowing Dr. Jarrard at his Tiger-based clinic in the weeks to come.
