Rabun Gap Trustee guest teaches in the Martin Luther King at 50 class

Rabun Gap Trustee Bishop Wright discusses MLK's "Letter from Birmingham" with seniors.
Rabun Gap Trustee Bishop Wright came on Thursday, September 20 to the King at 50 class to discuss “Letter from Birmingham Jail”. The MLK at 50 class is a trimester long elective class that is currently comprised of 14 seniors where learn about the writings and legacy of Dr. King 50 years after his assassination. The students will explore the writings of King, as well as the historical connections and contemporary writers, to gain a deeper understanding of Dr. King and how and why he continues to play a role today. The second half of the class will delve deeper into the years after his death, exploring the lasting legacy.
