Eagles have strong weekend in conference play

It was a great weekend for Varsity Football, Varsity Soccer, and Varsity Volleyball.
It was a great weekend for three varsity teams. Football defeated Concord First Assembly at home 56-6 in a very dominant performance.  The Eagles moved to 3-2 on the season.  Villjami Rautavirta had two interceptions which he returned for touchdowns.  It was a great team effort for the Eagles.

Varsity volleyball lost in five sets at Asheville Christian Academy on Wednesday marking the first time the Lady Eagles have taken a set from the Lions since joining the CAA fifteen years ago.  The girls then traveled to Charlotte to play at Charlotte Latin and Covenant Day on Saturday.  Rabun Gap earned their first 4A win by defeating Latin 3-1.  They competed well against Covenant Day but fell 3-1 in four close matches.

Soccer continues to have a stellar season with two more impressive wins on the road in Charlotte.  The Eagles defeated Charlotte Latin on Friday 3-2 and Covenant Day on Saturday 2-1.  These two 4A wins make their record 9-2 overall and 5-2 against NCISAA 4A teams on the season.  The Eagles have a chance to earn a top four seed in this year's tournament.

Congratulations to all three programs for their successes this fall.
