'Poor Fellas' opens in Blackbox

The second Blackbox installment was directed by Head of School Dr. Anthony Sgro.
The second play in Rabun Gap's Blackbox series for 2017-18 opened Friday, February 2 and Saturday, February 3. 

"Poor Fellas," directed by Head of School Dr. Anthony Sgro and written by  Marc Palmieri, follows the perils and pitfalls of love, solitude and knowledge. Though a series of short tragicomedy vignettes, actors portrayed a high school sophomore witnessing humiliation for the first timem,  an aging ballplayer confronting the new lineup, two men coming to grips with what their lives have become, and a philosophical debate at a funeral. 

The cast was largely made up of students acting for the first time. Cast members included Matt Barr, Net Khunwipusit, Cal Shelton, Carolyn Roemer, Henrik Landis, Caleb Scott, Mohamed Nabi Ndiaye, and Galen Krugly. Tom Shelton was the technical manager. 

The final play in the Blackbox series is "Ray Bradbury: An Evening of Science Fiction Storytelling," directed by Mr. Mike Cook, on April 6-7.
