Honor Chapel held at Upper School

Honor Book is signed by new students
Rabun Gap Upper School students started the new year with a dedication to the Rabun Gap Honor Code at the school's annual Honor Chapel on Thursday, January 11.

The Honor Code for all students states: "As a member of the Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School community, I promise to uphold honor with my words and actions.  I will not lie, cheat, or steal.  I accept responsibility for my own actions and for what other members of the community may do in my presence.  I understand the need for honor and pledge to defend it."

Honor Council President Gavron Campbell '18 addressed students about the Honor Code on Thursday, reminding them how the code makes Rabun Gap a unique community that values honesty, trust, and integrity.

Honor Chapel includes the signing of the Honor Book by all freshmen and students new to the Rabun Gap community. The student's signature represents their covenant promise to uphold the Rabun Gap Honor Code.

The Honor Chapel was led by the Honor Council representatives -- President Gavron Campbell '18, Nicole Poku '18, Aldora Wang '18, Cindy Shen '19, Anja Racic '19, Tucker Stone '20, Nicole VanderWoude '20, Peyton Coppage '21, and Gavin Anderson '21. Faculty representatives are Mrs. Cheryl Barber, chair, Mr. Jordan Wright, and Mrs. Maureen McGee.

The Lower and Middle Schools are also incorporating the Honor Code and themes of honor and responsibility into their chapel services.
