MS Volleyball loses 0-2 to conference rival Highlands School

The MS Lady Eagles lost 0-2 to conference rival Highlands School on the road Thursday.  They face Nantahala for another conference match on Thursday
The Middle School Volleyball team traveled to Highlands for their first conference match.  After coming off a lack-luster performance in the season opener they hoped to change things around.  They started off strong in the first set, capitalizing on a nice kill by 7th grader Reese Ward to take a quick lead.  However, the Eagles were slow to react to Highlands serving and found themselves in poor passing form, losing the lead and eventually dropping the set 11-25.  After back and forth points in set two, Isabella Crump stepped in to serve and powered 14 straight points into the Highlands back line. The Eagles took a commanding 15-3 lead. However, Highlands did not give up and the Eagles kept making too many critical errors.  They allowed Highlands to claw their way back and eventually handed over set 2 27-25.  Coach BySura had this to say after the game. "That loss was a tough one too stomach. But I don't see any losses for this years team, only learning experiences -- they learned a lot about how to play the game of volleyball today."

They face Nantahala for another conference match on Thursday.  Record 0-2.
