The MS Lady Eagles hosted Tallulah Falls School Monday evening.  The Eagle's new fast-paced offense was a struggle to grasp coming off just a handful of practices, and found themselves at the mercy of a group of seasoned Tallulah servers.  However, the girls found life at the end of set one, closing a 10 point Tallulah run to just 5.  With the score 20-15, the ladies struggled to pass the ball and fell 15-25 in set 1.  After some re-grouping, they came into set two refocused.  Points went back and forth evenly, but midway through, lack of ball control by the proved to be their downfall as the Eagles fell in set 2, 11-25.

Notable's on the evening were the front row play of Lucy Barry who tallied two kills, and serving by Reese Ward.  Claren Spivey, and Sara Hicks were much improved from last season.  The young team only starts two 8th graders.  Coach BySura had this to say after the game. "I am incredibly pleased tonight.  I am excited for the near future and tonight was a glimpse into what could be!  We have 4 of 6 starters in 7th grade.  They are young, it's that simple.  This team has incredible potential for this season and beyond.  Yes, it is a loss, but these girls are tough and they are smart. They will bounce back."

The team travels to Highlands School on Thursday for their first conference match.
