Rabun Gap loses to end Spring Break

Rabun Gap closed out their spring break baseball week by dropping a tight game at Covenant Day 2-1 on Saturday.  The Eagles outhit the Lions of Covenant Day 8-4, but couldn’t get a hit when they needed it.  Entering the sixth inning the Eagles trailed 2-0 before a Divontae Murphy groundout drove in Seth Justus to cut the lead in half.  In the seventh, the Eagles had the tying run on second base but couldn’t drive him in.  Dallas Earnhardt was the hard luck loser for the Eagles, dropping his record to 1-1 on the season.  For the game Garrison Melzer and Jordan Hajazin each had 2 hits for Rabun Gap.  The Eagles’ record now stands at 3-2 as the students return from spring break.
