Heoni Ha ‘24 is an eighth-grade boarding student in the Middle School.
Heoni is from South Korea and this is his first year at Rabun Gap. A stellar student and well-loved by his peers, Heoni enjoys his classes and playing sports. He’s been a member of the Middle School soccer and basketball teams this year.
Why did you choose to attend Rabun Gap?
I chose Rabun Gap because I was trying to find a boarding school close to my brother in Atlanta so that he can help me if I need it.
What makes Rabun Gap special to you?
I wasn’t really interested at first when I heard the name, but when I went to the Rabun Gap website, the main campus was insanely beautiful. That actually got me.
What is your favorite thing about being at the Middle School?
My favorite thing is that you can play most sports every season, and we have lots of games.
What is your favorite memory from your time here so far?
It was obviously in Washington D.C when I saw the Washington monument. Also, Halloween when Mr. Barnes wore the costume that had jelly beans in it. It was hilarious because my friends and I called him Mr. Beans.
What is your favorite class and why?
Most classes are fun but if I have to choose one of them, I’ll choose P.E. class because I love to play sports. Also, Mr. Barnes’ classes are so fun.
Tell us something interesting about yourself that we don’t otherwise know.
Honestly I played and learned the piano for 7 years. I still can play but not as well as last year.
What interests do you pursue outside of the classroom?
When I have free time in the dorm, I like to play basketball or watch TV, as well.
