Students serve community at Christmas events

Students stepped up to lend a hand at several local organizations over the weekend of December 14 and 15.
Students had several opportunities to serve the internal and external community over the weekend of December 14 and 15.
While at the Appalachian Animal Rescue Center in Franklin, NC, students helped to spread Christmas cheer to the animals waiting for adoption. They walked the dogs, helped to clean litter boxes, brushed the cats, sorted dog and cat food bags, and had a great time playing with the dogs and cats at the shelter.
The Foxfire Museum had its inaugural Foxfire Christmas and students were eager to jump in to help with the event. They helped to direct foot traffic to the cabins, served cookies to the guests, and also helped visiting children create yarn doll Christmas ornaments.
Clayton First United Methodist Church needed help with a special Christmas project for families in the community. Students came together to wrap presents that included pajamas and CDs for 83 families in need.
On Sunday, Rabun Gap held a community-wide Christmas party that could not have been pulled off without student help. Students showed up to help facilitate photos with Santa and greet guests.
