The Lady Eagles opened their season on the road at Durham Academy Friday night. After a pretty even first half, back to back 3s by Derin Akdeniz and Claudia Lopez in the final seconds gave Rabun Gap a 24-18 lead at the half. The Lady Eagles opened their lead up to 14 with just over four minutes left in the game. Josie Earnhardt and Lopez each had 13 points. Akdeniz finished with 12. Ramani Lewis led the Eagles with 13 rebounds. Rabun Gap (1-0) travels across town to face North Raleigh Christian Academy on Saturday.
