Coach Tates Locke visited campus today.  Coach Locke is a close friend of Boys Basketball Coach Roger Cox and stops by Rabun Gap a couple of times a year to work with Eagles basketball players.  He has been coaching basketball at the college and professional level for over fifty years and is widely regarded in the world of basketball coaching as one of the best teachers of the game in the history of basketball. 

 

In addition to being an assistant and head coach on several NCAA Division 1 and NBA teams, Coach Locke has been a lead clinician for various professional organizations, including the elite Nike Camps. He has provided personal training to many of today's current NBA superstars and he is a connection to the very beginning days of the NCAA and NBA because of his work and friendship with many other legendary coaches from those days.  He is retired with his wife Mindy in Jacksonville, Florida.
