Former Mariner, UGA Bulldog to join Eagles baseball staff

Brandon Stephens joins the Rabun Gap baseball coaching staff after a stellar playing career at Lassiter High School, the University of Georgia and in the minor leagues.
Brandon was also the starting catcher for the East squad in the 2009 Aflac All-American game in San Diego, California where he played against Chris Bryant and Bryce Harper. In 2010, after leading Lassiter High to the state finals, Brandon was named the Cobb County Player of the Year and the Georgia 5A State Player of the Year.
At the University of Georgia, Brandon was a four-year starter at catcher and was named captain of the 2015 team. After graduating from UGA with a BA in Communications, Brandon signed a professional contract to pitch for the Seattle Mariners organization. He spent two years in their minor league system before a second Tommy John surgery ended his playing career.
Brandon will help lead the Eagles baseball program starting this spring.
