Middle School Spring Break Trip

February 24-March 7, 2023

Spring Break 2023

Join Middle School Science Teacher and Experiential Education Coordinator Johnathan BySura for "Beaches and Climate Zones of Maui." This trip is open to grades 6-8.
Have you ever dreamed of visiting a lost world of beaches, rainforests, volcanoes, and almost every climate zone on earth? Now is your chance to explore the island of Maui with your middle school peers.

Experiential Education Coordinator and Science Teacher, Johnathan BySura is offering a 10-day trip to the Hawaiian Island of Maui from February 24 to March 7. On this once-in-a-lifetime trip, your child will experience what Mr. BySura is dubbing the "Beaches and Climate Zones of Maui." They will travel through the island visiting lost rainforest pools to swim under its lush waterfalls, climb to the summit of Mt. Haleakala, snorkel the waters of Molokini for sea turtles, and learn to surf like a true Hawaiian. Not only will they experience these unbelievable moments, but they will also practice the art of the Hawaiian concept of kuleana. If we are fortunate to enjoy Maui as our home, playground, or vacation destination, then we accept the kuleana (responsibility) to take care of the island. We will participate in community service projects while visiting Maui to preserve it for future travelers and for those who call it home. The whale migrations will be in full swing on Maui during this time, and seeing Humpback Whales on their traditional breeding grounds is a possibility. With so much to do and see, Maui is every kid's natural playground and dream come true. We hope that you agree and wish to join Mr. BySura on this incredible experience of discovery.
