Chryssie Whitehead to judge dance category for MADFest 2020

Special guest judge Chryssie Whitehead will be judging the dance category in MADFest 2020.
The arts department is excited to announce that Chryssie Whitehead will be judging the dance category in MADFest 2020.

Chryssie Whitehead is originally from South Carolina. She began her career as a Rockette right out of highschool and trained in musical theatre at the AMDA Conservatory in New York City. With a career of over 20 years, spanning from New York to Los Angeles, Whitehead knows her way around the stage and the screen. She has held roles in Broadway shows Chicago and A Chorus Line, and has acted in over 13 television and film roles - most notably Revenge of the Bridesmaids with Raven Simone on Netflix.

Whitehead leads a creative, artistic life teaching across the globe and now spends most of her time directing and choreographing works such as Hairspray, Grease, Shrek, Into the Woods, Aladdin Jr. and Mama Mia. She is a proud Co-Founder of Broadway Arts Community, teaching musical theatre/jazz dance across the globe and at BAC’S Summer Roots Experience in Los Angeles this summer, August 1 - 9, 2020. She will also be on the big screen Christmas 2020 with a small role in Steven Spielberg’s remake of West Side Story.

MADFest is a celebration of the performing and visual arts at Rabun Gap.  It is an opportunity for students to create, perform and display their talents.  This year the arts department is putting together a very different form of MADFest with the students submitting videos of their work.  

The deadline for submissions is this Friday, April 24.  These videos will be compiled and livestreamed on May 8 at 3PM EST.
