Welcome Ms. Ashley Burnett, Middle School Spanish

Rabun Gap welcomes Ms. Ashley Burnett, who will be teaching Spanish at the Middle School this year.
Ms. Ashley Burnett comes to Rabun Gap with years of teaching experience across a broad range of levels.  Ms. Burnett earned a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Western Carolina University with a minor in communications.  In her career, she has taught English as a Second language at Southwestern Community College, Spanish and English as a Second Language at Highlands High School, and served as a translator for numerous organizations.  

Ms. Burnett will join the Middle School faculty, where she will teach Spanish. She will also coach middle school boys soccer in the fall and Cirque Out in the spring.   She lives in Franklin, North Carolina with her husband of 16 years and four children, all of whom will attend Rabun Gap this fall. She is the sister of Julia Johnson, who will be joining the Lower School faculty as a counselor.

 “The faculty and staff at  Rabun Gap have been so wonderful, they have welcomed our family with open arms. I am so thankful to be a part of such a professional and diverse community,” she said.
