Welcome Ms. Julia Johnson, Director of Lower School Counseling

Rabun Gap welcomes Ms. Julia Johnson, who is the new Director of Lower School Counseling.
Ms. Julia Johnson comes to Rabun Gap as Director of Lower School Counseling after an extensive career in social work across Western North Carolina. She will work with our Lower School students this year on wellness initiatives and in social and emotional areas. She will join the administrative team at the Lower School as a partner with parents and teachers.

Ms. Johnson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in social work from Western Carolina University. She and her husband of three years, Matt, live in Franklin, North Carolina with their infant daughter, Lorelei.  She is the sister of Ms. Ashley Burnett, who will be joining the Middle School faculty this year.

“I am both honored and excited to be joining the Rabun Gap family,” she said. “I cannot wait to see what this new adventure brings and I look forward to many years of service within this community. I have been met with open arms and acceptance since the day I stepped foot on campus. I have felt such a sense of calmness and welcoming each day, and for that I am overly grateful!”
