Upper School In the Know
10th & 11th grade students will participate in the PSAT and should check their email for specific directions from the College Counseling team.
9th & 12th grade students should report to the Rearden Theatre at 8:45am to receive their community service locations. All 9th & 12th grade students must wear closed-toe shoes with a secure back. Please dress for work outdoors and bring a water bottle.

Spirit Week
We’re looking forward to an exciting week of school spirit and community celebration!
The Upper School Homecoming Dance is Satuday, October 24 in the Dining Hall. Click READ MORE for all the details, including the form required to invite a non-Rabun Gap guest. This form must be completed by October 22 at 1pm.
Students in all divisions may wear costumes to school on Friday, October 30 to celebrate Halloween. The annual Lower School costume parade will be at 10 am in the courtyard!
Please remember that costumes should reflect the modest school community in which we are a part. Anything that could be deemed too scary should be pre-approved. No inflatable costumes are allowed and masks/hats will need to be removed during class. Please remember to refrain from political or culturally offensive costumes, leave weapons at home, and follow dress code modesty guidelines.
Photo packages ordered through Strawbridge Studios will be distributed to students by the end of next week.
If you would still like to order portraits, visit strawbridge.net. Those who took photos during the makeup day on October 14 will be able to purchase photos in the next few weeks.
Due to the Homecoming Football game, there will be no aftercare, no afternoon activities, and no evening 6 PM bus on Friday, October 23. The 3:30 PM bus will run as scheduled.

If you need to open a bank account at Bank of America, Mrs. Caro will be taking a group of students to the bank on Monday, October 19. To open an account at Bank of America, you must be 16 years old and you need to take a valid passport and visa. The Admission Office and Lower School are hosting a Trunk or Treat at 6:15 pm on Friday, October 30 before the home football game! This is a great opportunity to bring a friend to experience the Rabun Gap community! Prospective families who RSVP will get a concessions voucher. Share with families, neighbors, and friends! Dorms will close on Saturday, November 21, at noon for Thanksgiving Break and reopen on Monday, November 30, at 1:00 p.m.

We will celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month at our Upper School convocation on Monday, October 12. National Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated annually in the United States to recognize the histories, cultures, and contributions of Americans with ancestry from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.
Enjoy Fall Break! There are no classes on Monday, October 5, and Tuesday, October 6. Classes resume on Wednesday, October 7.

Thank you to parents and students for joining us for Student-Led Conferences on Friday. These conversations are an important part of our school culture. They give students the chance to reflect on their progress, set goals, and take ownership of their learning. Our students led with confidence and pride, and we are grateful for the thoughtful questions and encouragement from families and advisors.
This year, Mr. Ahrens has invited our community to live out the theme Together We Lead. Together We Grow. Student-Led Conferences show that theme in action. Students lead the conversation, and families and advisors work alongside them to help them grow.
Your partnership makes a real difference as we support each child's growth in character, intellect, and spirit. Thank you for celebrating the hard work and accomplishments of our students. We look forward to seeing how they build on these reflections in the months ahead.
