2022-2023 Nancy and Jack Beaver Essay contest winners announced

Ella Loveland '23, Vivi Geren '23, and Savanna Jones '25 have been chosen as the winners of the Jack and Nancy Beaver Essay contest.

This year, students were assigned to write an essay about origin stories.

About the Nancy and Jack Beaver Essay Contest
The Rabun Gap Upper School Humanities Department sponsors this essay contest each year to honor the tenure and contributions of Nancy and Jack Beaver, who served our community for 35 years in various ways, including Ms. Beaver’s leadership of our English Department and Mr. Beaver’s service as the school counselor. Ms. Beaver’s tireless dedication to improving the grammar and writing of each and every Rabun Gap student continues to inspire our faculty.

This contest promotes the importance of clear, engaging writing and provides Rabun Gap students with an opportunity to develop and refine a personal essay on a shared topic, which varies from year to year.
