Wallace Cooper to head Middle School athletics

Wallace Cooper will lead athletics at the Middle School as our new Middle School Athletic Director and PE Teacher. In addition to his role at the Middle School, Mr. Cooper will be an assistant football coach.

Prior to coming to Rabun Gap, he taught PE and was the Athletic Director at the Burgundy Farm Country Day School in Alexandria, Virginia. He has coached at the high school and collegiate levels for five years, and was most recently defensive coordinator for the football team at Saint John Paul The Great Catholic High School. Mr. Cooper also owns a non-profit called Level Up that prepares student-athletes and their families for the aspects of being high-profile athletes as well as life beyond athletics. He holds an M.S. in Behavioral and Social Science in Athletic Administration and a B.A. in Behavioral and Social Science in Psychology, both from North Carolina Central University.

Mr. Cooper enjoys hiking and playing basketball.  He will live on campus with his fiancé, their daughter, and two dogs.
