Trevor Muir to Speak on Applied Learning

Rabun Gap is excited to invite all parents to hear from nationally recognized teacher, author and speaker Trevor Muir. Trevor will present “Applied Learning: The Future of Education and Your Role as a Parent” August 17 at 6:30 PM in the Rearden Theater to kick off our new Parent Summit series. 
 
Trevor is a leader in applied, project-based learning. He  is the author of “The Epic Classroom ”and “The Collaborative Classroom,” and works closely with educators across the globe to help them craft engaging and transformative learning experiences. Trevor also hosts a podcast, “The Epic Classroom with Trevor Muir,” that shares ideas, stories, and inspiration for creating memorable classroom experiences. Trevor presented a TED talk at Tedx San Antonio called "School Should Take Place in the Real World," and writes for publications like EdWeek, The Huffington Post, and WeAreTeachers. We encourage all parents to attend this special event. Trevor’s presentation is the first in our series of new Parent Summits planned for this school year. We are excited to offer regular Parent Summits throughout the school year featuring experts from Rabun Gap and the broader educational community. These events foster our partnership with parents in all aspects of student development and wellbeing. Parent Summit topics will range from the future of STEAM education to social media & your children. A schedule of upcoming Parent Summits will be released in August.
