Emilio Roman '23 recognized at the United Soccer Coaches Awards Banquet

On Saturday, January 22, Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School junior, Emilio Roman, was recognized at the United Soccer Coaches Awards Banquet in Kansas City, Missouri. The banquet honors soccer players from across the United States who have been named to the All-America Teams. Roman was one of 88 male players to receive recognition.

A key member of the NCISAA state championship team, Roman finished the season with 21 goals and nine assists. Being named to the All-America team is a testament to both him and the Rabun Gap soccer program.

“After a lot of sacrifice and dedication, I am very happy to be named one of the best players in the country,” Roman said.

He contributes much of his success to his family and teammates.

“I am very grateful to all my teammates. Without them it would not have been possible, and to my family and friends who have always supported me,” he said. “This is just the beginning and we are going to continue working to fight for the championship next season.”
