Featured Profile: Kendall Weisser '26

Meet Kendall Weisser '26! Kendall is a day student at the Middle School from Clayton, GA. She has attended Rabun Gap for three years and her siblings, Ben '28 and Cece '31, are also students here.

Why did you choose to attend Rabun Gap?

My family and I were looking at schools in North East, Georgia, and came across Rabun Gap. Right from the start, we knew we loved the school for its beautiful campus and family-like community. From then on we knew that Rabun Gap was the perfect fit for my family, and after attending here for three years I've grown to love it even more and couldn't imagine life anywhere else.

What makes Rabun Gap special to you?

While growing up in a military family I've had the privilege of moving all over the world but because of that I've never attended American school or had friends I could actually connect with. Immediately after moving here, I was welcomed in with open arms by people from all different divisions of the school. This made my experience here all the more special.

What is your favorite memory from Rabun Gap?

I am so incredibly lucky to be able to say this, but I've had so many amazing memories that I'm not able to just name one. A few of my top favorites were the many adventures I went on with my sixth and seventh-grade science classes, my seventh-grade lacrosse season, and my current French class.

What do you like most about your extracurriculars?

Thanks to the middle school I've been exposed to not only sports but also the performing arts world. It has challenged me to not only use my athletic abilities but also my creative talents.

What has been your favorite moment or memory so far this year?

The under the lights middle school social was definitely a night I will always remember. The whole night was full of fun games, new friendships, and memories that will last a lifetime.

What is it like attending the same school as your siblings?

I love being able to occasionally see them at school and be involved in their lives. As a middle schooler, I've been able to read to my sister, perform a play for my brother and sister's classes at the lower school, and attend all of their games and performances.

Which Rabun Gap teachers and/or coaches have had the biggest impact on you during your time here?

Throughout my time here I haven't met a teacher that hasn't been absolutely amazing, but after spending three years here there have been a few that especially stand out. My sixth-grade history teacher Coach J and my seventh-grade History teacher and now art teacher Mrs. Ammons.

What advice would you give another student who is interested in attending Rabun Gap?

Firstly I would tell them to relax because attending a new school can be a little scary but Rabun Gap is such a welcoming and excepting place. I would tell them about all the amazing experiences and fun I have on a daily basis. Every day is a new opportunity to do something great and at Rabun Gap, that's always the case.

Which interests do you pursue outside of the classroom?

I love going on hikes with my family and dog, I'm trying my best to become an artist, and I loving trying to keep up my German with my friends and neighbors that still live there.
