Two Rabun Gap students named Bonner Scholars

Gavin Anderson and Isabella Caro accepted to scholarship program
Congratulations to Gavin Anderson and Isabella Caro! Gavin and Isabella have been named Bonner Scholars at Berry College and Rhodes College, respectively.

The Bonner Program grants a scholarship to students in exchange for weekly commitment to intensive and meaningful service with a local community organization over their four years as an undergraduate. In addition to their service, Bonner Scholars train in leadership development and social justice topics that encourage students to become aware of how the problems and issues of their communities influence their service work and public policy.

Isabella will major in political science and minor in psychology at Rhodes College, with plans to continue to law school after graduation. She is also considering clinical psychology careers specializing in women’s issues or studying comparative psychology to pursue work as a comparative psychologist, animal behaviorist, or ethologist.

Gavin will major in Exercise Science and minor in Exercise and Fitness Management at Berry so that he can pursue his goal of opening a training facility for high school and college athletes. He has also signed to play football with the Berry Vikings.
