Rabun Gap Celebrates the Lunar New Year

All three divisions started the week off strong on Monday, February 15 by celebrating Lunar New Year.

Under the direction of Lower School Mandarin teacher Ms. Wang, the Lower School students spent the day learning about various aspects of the cultures that celebrate Lunar New Year. In the Lower School dining room, students were taught how to play Jianzi and competed in chopstick races.  Students also paraded around the school wearing a dragon costume made by Middle School students.

The event at the Middle School was led by their Mandarin teacher Mr. Heselton. Lunar New Year decorations filled the halls and learning stations were set up around the school. Middle Schools students were also taught how to play Jianzi and competed in chopstick races.

Upper Schoolers competed in a Kahoot Challenge about Lunar New Year.  The Kahoot quiz included 10 questions about Lunar New Year and the top three participants received a red envelope as a prize!
