Rabun Gap celebrates Rock Your School 

Students and faculty in all three divisions rocked out Wednesday, February 10, 2021 for “Rock Your School” Day. 

This school wide event had the theme “Winter Blues Behind - Blue Skies Ahead,” and encouraged teachers to focus on engaged learning and transformed classrooms. Students in the Upper and Middle schools celebrated with a special dress day. 

At the Lower School, teachers brought lessons to life through classroom transformations. From learning about Hawaiian culture, designing shark traps as a STEAM activity, and researching zoo animals to completing Route 66 and glow math challenges, competing in Olympic Games, and sipping on snow cones - our students had a vacation-themed blast. Some of the classroom themes for the day included Beach, Under the Sea, Glow Day, Shark Week, Olympics, Hawaii, Rabun Gap Zoo, Route 66, and Deserted Island. 

Rock Your School is a nationwide initiative sponsored by Get Your Teach On to celebrate outside-of-the-box, engaged learning in schools across the country.
