Gavin Anderson '21 signs with Berry

Gavin will continue his football career with the Berry Vikings.
Gavin Anderson '21 will continue his athletic and academic career at the next level after signing to play football at Berry College on Wednesday, February 3.

Gavin was surrounded by family, teammates, friends, and Lower School students as he celebrated his decision at Rabun Gap's first signing ceremony of 2021. A four-year player for the Eagles, Gavin has been a key contributor to the program's success. He helped lead the 2020 team to a state runner-up title playing defensive end.

Eagles Coach Joe Sturdivant described Gavin as a great leader, loyal teammate, and an athlete who gives all-out effort on the field.

"You set a tradition here - a winning tradition," Coach Sturdivant said to Gavin during the signing. "We're so proud of you."

Located in Rome, Georgia, Berry College is one of the nation's top-tier liberal arts colleges. It is situated on more than 27,000 acres and is the world's largest contiguous college campus. The Berry Vikings are a member of the Southern Athletic Association.

Playing for Berry has been a goal for Gavin for a long time. He would like to pursue a career in sports medicine or athletic training after college.
