Rabun Gap athletics have historic fall 2020

The Fall 2020 season was one to remember for Rabun Gap's athletic program. Despite the challenges of a worldwide pandemic, our teams experienced historic success and built legacies for their programs that will continue for years to come.

These are a few highlights from the fall season:

The Eagles football team earned their first North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association Division 1 state runner-up title. First-year Head Coach Joe Sturdivant led the Eagles to a 7-2 finish.

The Eagles boys soccer team placed as state runner-up for their second-straight season. The Eagles had only three losses on the season and were led by first-year Head Coach Jesse Brown.

The Lady Eagles golf program placed fifth in the NCISAA tournament.

The Lady Eagles volleyball team advanced to the second round of the state playoffs for the first time in program history.

Girls tennis and cross country had great seasons with players experiencing tremendous growth and improvement with each practice and contest.

The Winter 2020-2021 season begins in November. Follow @rg_athletics on Instagram for the latest athletic updates and news.
