Dee Dee Walker joins the Upper School humanities department

The Upper School humanities departments welcomes Dee Dee Walker.
Rabun Gap is excited to announce that Dee Dee Walker has joined our faculty and will teach in the Upper School humanities department!

Originally from Baton Rouge, LA, Ms. Walker received a Bachelor of Arts in English from High Point University and then received a Master of Arts in English from Auburn University. 

Before joining the faculty at Rabun Gap, Ms. Walker taught high school English part-time at Episcopal High School of Baton Rouge, LA and St. Joseph's Academy in Baton Rouge, LA. She also served as a teacher’s assistant for literature courses at Auburn University and taught college freshmen composition there as part of her Master’s requirements. While at Auburn, Ms. Walker earned James P. Hammersmith Best Paper Award.

“Rabun Gap is a unique place to live and learn with a deep commitment and responsiveness to student needs inside and outside of the classroom,” said Walker.

In her spare time, Ms. Walker enjoys golfing, hiking and traveling.
