Ms. Wood will work with our youngest students.
Ms. Sarah Wood will teach PreK students at the Lower School.

Ms. Wood comes to Rabun Gap from Peachtree Presbyterian Preschool in Atlanta, where she was the Director of Admission. She has served as a teacher and administrator in a variety of schools. Ms. Wood began teaching Pre-Kindergarten in Charleston, SC before serving as the Director of Special Programs and Admissions Associate at The San Francisco School for five years.

“In moving to the area to start a life with my soon-to-be husband, I was looking for a strong school community that supports one another and encourages students to take risks and build self-confidence. I also love the small class sizes, expansive campus, and focus on service learning,” she said.

Ms. Wood holds an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Georgia State University and a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from the College of Charleston. She has been published in the Teacher Educator Journal and was a co-presenter at the National Association for the Education of Young Children Annual Conference.

Ms. Wood is a world traveler who has visited 27 different countries. She now lives in Lakemont, GA with her fiancé, Casey, and cat, Rufus. Before pursuing a career in education,  Ms. Wood worked in sales and marketing at a bridal magazine in Atlanta. In her free time she enjoys hiking local trails, cooking new recipes using ingredients from her garden, and traveling.
