Tyler Gittins named science teacher

Mr. Gittins will teach biology and anatomy to Upper School students. 
Tyler Gittins is our newest addition to the Upper School science department.  He will teach biology and anatomy, as well as lead the track and field program as head coach.  

Mr. Gittins is a recent graduate of Wittenberg University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology, was a member of the Kappa Delta Pi International Education Honor Society and received the Wittenberg University Biology Teaching Careers Award. 

“Rabun Gap offers an incredible community to its students and faculty that promotes learning, diversity, self growth,” Mr. Gittins said of why he chose to work at Rabun Gap. 

A standout athlete, Mr. Gittins was a NCAA Division III All-American in track and field in 2017, and placed third in the nation in the 400-meter hurdles. His coaching career includes a stint as an assistant track and field coach for Wittenberg. 

He will live on campus and serve on a residential life team. Mr. Gittins enjoys running, fly fishing, and polo.
