Jesse Brown to lead boys soccer program

Coach Brown was named Head Coach for boys soccer and girls lacrosse
Rabun Gap is pleased to announce the appointment of Jesse Brown as the next head coach for boys soccer.

Coach Brown brings professional, international, and elite independent school coaching experience to continue the success of the Eagles soccer program. Last season, the Eagles finished as NCISAA state runner-up after advancing to the first state championship game in program history.  They finished the stellar season with a 19-3 record. The boys soccer program has earned a spot in the state Final Four for the past two seasons.

Coach Brown comes to Rabun Gap from Trinity School in New York, where he leaves a remarkable tenure of success.  Coach Brown led his teams to the past three New York state championship games, capturing back-to-back state championships and recording an undefeated season in 2018. He also led Trinity to the first Ivy League Prep championship for the school since 1981. Prior to his arrival at Trinity School, the program had not won more than five games in a season. In just five seasons, he was able to create a culture that embodied success on and off the field.  Brown has also helped place numerous players at the collegiate level.

"During our competitive national search for a new soccer coach, Coach Brown stood out as someone who clearly knows how to build a successful program, and most importantly, as someone who values relationships and helping players at the next level," said Head of School Jeff Miles.

Prior to his appointment at Trinity School, Brown coached with the professional (MLS) soccer club, the New York Red Bulls.  With the Red Bulls, he was responsible for organizing and coaching training sessions for some of the top youth players in the country.  He also has experience coaching internationally in England.

Brown was also a standout athlete at Castleton College (VT), where he was a four-year starter and two-year team captain.  He was named all-conference, an all-tournament team, and helped lead his team to two NAC championships and a berth to the NCAA tournament.

"I am very excited to be part of a great community like the one at the Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School.  I'm looking forward to joining a successful boys soccer program and helping to lead them to more success in the future, " said Coach Brown.

In addition to leading our boys soccer program, Coach Brown will be the head coach for girls lacrosse and work in the athletic department.
