MADFest 2020 to be held via live-stream in May

MADFest, Rabun Gap's annual celebration of the arts, will be taking place in May.
The arts department is very excited to announce that MADFest 2020 is still moving forward and hopes that students will join in on the fun this year. They are accepting submissions that will culminate in a live-streamed compilation of all entries at the beginning of May.

Visual arts is being chosen based off of completed work already finished in Upper School classes. If students have additional work they would like to be considered, please upload it.

Film submissions this year can be any theme or concept so long as they are school appropriate.

Adjudication
Since Rabun Gap is in an online environment now, the arts department has found some really exciting judges to adjudicate the participants. Stay tuned for more information on this.

Suggestions
  • Please film entres in landscape (horizontal not vertical).
  • Try to keep films stationary and not handheld
  • Students should do their best to get good sound quality.
  • Technology concerns should not stop students from entering. Judging will not be based on quality of video or audio. Students are encouraged to reach out to their peers; accompaniment can still be recorded by friends.
  • Vocal submissions can use background tracks this year. Make sure they are karaoke versions without the lead singer singing along.
Students are encouraged to have a lot of fun with their projects. The arts team is very excited to see all of the students' creativity, energy and enthusiasm and can’t wait to see what they come up with this year.

For questions, reach out to Sean Lakey or any other member of the arts department.
