Caroline Moore '15 to teach music in summer Creative Arts Camp

Our Creative Arts Summer Program this June features instruction from our amazing performing arts alumni, including Caroline Moore '15!
“Rabun Gap was a great experience for me because of the diversity, the geography, the teachers, and the environment,”  says Moore.  “Nothing beats taking classes in the Smokey Mountains! The teachers are amazing and care about you as an individual, and the diversity is celebrated all across campus.”

Caroline Moore '15 attended Berry College and received a BA in music. She now lives in New Jersey getting her masters in jazz studies and arranging at William Paterson University.  Moore is joining the Creative Arts Summer Programs to teach General Music to ages 7-10 as well as Percussion and Show Choir for ages 11-14 for the first two weeks of June.

“Caroline is a rockstar,” says Sean Lakey, Head of the Fine and Performing Arts. “Female percussionists are still somewhat of a rarity in the industry and not only is Caroline challenging that perception, opening doors and inspiring those around her, but she can also outperform most any drummer I’ve ever met.  Not only is she amazingly talented, but she is also one of the kindest and most genuine people in the world.  We are very blessed to have her coming back to the area for two weeks to share her gifts this year.”

“I'm very excited to come back to Rabun Gap this summer,” says Moore. “Reconnecting with past alumni and teachers, seeing all the new additions to the campus since 2015, and getting to teach and share my love of music to the kids in the great Smokey Mountains!”

Creative Arts Summer Programs will run for two weeks in the beginning of June (June 1-5 & June 8-12).  Each week of all-day classes & workshops (9AM - 5PM) will allow students to take a myriad of different types of performance experiences, including dance, drama, music and cirque.  This will culminate in a performance on the Rearden stage each Friday letting the students show off what they have learned over the week.

The cost is $395/week ($370/week if you sign up for both sessions) with lunch provided.  Space is limited and on a first-come / first-serve basis.  Sign up today at www.rabungap.org/creativearts
