Student Feature: Landon Green '21

"Rabun Gap is a very welcoming community that has a place for just about anyone."
 
Landon Green ‘21 is originally from Texas but now calls Saudi Arabia home. He has been a boarding student at Rabun Gap for two years. In his time at the school, he has involved himself in many of the opportunities that Rabun Gap has to offer. He plays soccer, manages the girls soccer team, and has been a member of the chorus. Landon is a Gap Guide and often gives tours of the campus to prospective families. He was named Gap Guide of the Year in 2019. He is heavily involved in tech theatre, where he has worked on a number of productions including the musical, cirque, and the dance concert. 

Why did you choose to attend Rabun Gap?
The people made me feel at home

What makes Rabun Gap special to you?
The opportunity to try anything and everything I want and not only succeed but thrive.

What is your favorite memory from Rabun Gap?
Running shows and giving tours 

What do you like most about working behind the scenes backstage in tech theatre?
I’ve learned a lot about myself and found a reliable group of people who are willing to work just as hard as I do.

What is it like being a Gap Guide?
I get to do exactly what I love by talking to people and helping them realize how special Rabun Gap is.

Which Rabun Gap teachers and/or coaches have had the biggest impact on you during your time here?
Mr.Lakey and Ms.Heidi have opened my view on theatre which I probably would have never considered had I not come here.

What advice would you give another student who is interested in boarding and attending Rabun Gap?
Don’t hesitate to be yourself - Rabun Gap is a very welcoming community that has a place for just about anyone.

Which interests do you pursue outside of the classroom?
I really enjoy hanging out with my brothers in the dorm and my family in the theater.
