Students present "The Robber Bridegroom"

The annual musical production had audiences laughing on October 31-November 2. 
Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School presented its annual musical production, “The Robber Bridegroom,” on October 31-November 2. 

Set in 18th century Mississippi “The Robber Bridegroom”  is a darkly comic Southern fairytale about a charming gentleman bandit, the rich plantation owner's daughter he loves, the wicked stepmother who wants her dead, and an evil thief who carries his brother's head around in a trunk Rabun Gap’s production featured live bluegrass music, bluegrass-style music, a large cast, and student-designed sets and lights

More than 50 Upper School students were involved in the show both onstage and behind the scenes. This year’s musical was directed by Mr. Sean Lakey, with musical/vocal direction by Ms. Allegra Boggess, choreography by Ms. Heidi Spoon, and technical direction by Mr. Albert Fusco. 

“The Robber Bridegroom” was Rabun Gap’s entry into the Georgia Musical Theater Awards (Shuler Awards). Shuler nominations and awards will be announced this spring.
