Rabun Gap 2 - Summit Charter 0

The Lady Eagles were at home tonight versus Summit Charter in their second match of the season. The Eagles started strong on the serving of Taylor Nickerson, jumping to a quick 9-4 lead. Summit would do some fighting, and claw back into the game, but the Eagles would soon shut the door midway through as Milli Watts heated up from the baseline and pushed 9 consecutive points on the serve.8th grader Annalise Fon showed considerable improvement both passing and hitting as she tallied a kill in the first set. The Eagles punished Summit in the first set 25-14. The second set was much of the same as the Eagle's showed their dominance. They quickly captured a 14 point lead off an improved Annalise Fon serve, Carson Hill serve, and Milli Watts serve. This opened the door for the bench to come in and finish Summit Charter off, and they did in exciting fashion. Sixth graders Zoey Weems and Zak Killian both had nice nights passing the ball and learned the movement and quickness of the game. 8th grader Hannah Jane Mellon showed her leadership with improved consistency and smashed the ball down at the net for the Eagles to seal a 25-20 second set victory for the Eagles. Coach BySura had this to say after the game, "We continue to improve, and another excellent team victory tonight. I was excited to see more focus, more consistency in this one, and I hope this continues into Wednesday's championship."
