Rabun Gap welcomes over 400 for Grandparents Day

A record number of grandparents joined us for Grandparents Days, September 25-27.
Rabun Gap welcomed a record number of grandparents to campus over September 25 -27! More than 400 grandparents and special guests made the trip to visit with their favorite Lower School, Middle School, and Upper School students to learn more about the school they love.

At the start of each day, Head of School Mr. Jeff Miles spoke to the group about the history of Rabun Gap and about what makes Rabun Gap special. Grandparents were given the opportunity to ask Mr. Miles questions before students were invited to join in on the activities.

On Wednesday, September 25, Upper School students hosted their grandparents in the new Richard and John Woodruff Dining Hall and shared lunch with them. Middle School students welcomed their grandparents to the Middle School on Thursday, September 26, where they shared a barbeque lunch after attending advisory. On Friday, September 27, the Lower Schoolers excitedly took their grandparents to their classes, where they got to meet teachers and then share brunch together! All groups took the opportunity to have their picture taken as a special memory of the day.

“Grandparents are an important part of the Rabun Gap community,” said Mr. Miles. “It is always incredible to see the love and support that our students have from their families. We enjoy providing a space where students can entertain their grandparents and share the school that we love with them.”
