RG 2 - Summit Charter 0

The Eagles were on the road again as they faced Summit Charter in Cashiers, NC. The Eagles were slow starting as several missed serve opportunities kept Summit in the game. Passing looked better for the Eagles in the back row and it is steadily improving, but the lady eagles fell short on the attack totalling 15 errors in the first set from their starting 6. However, the Eagles would get a massive spark from their bench players as Savanna Jones came into the game and served 7 straight points to tie the game 15-15. Stella Volgelbacher would increase that lead by two more, but the Eagles again struggled with ball control toward the end of the set as Summit took a 25-24 lead. The Eagles stayed composed and calm as they volleyed a point to tie it 25-25, before Taylor Nickerson punched in the final two points to win the set 27-25.  In the second set, serving improved and the Eagles consistently rolled out points to stay on top of Summit. The bench again came on the court and delivered as Isabella Martinez served in two points at a critical point in the game to turn the tide for the Eagles. In the end, although they struggled in this road match offensively, they came out on top in the second set 25-16. Winning their second road competition of the week. Coach BySura had this to say after the game, "It's always good to win, and although we're glad we pulled it out, we know deep down that it should have been a lot better. We made a lot of mental mistakes tonight, and it's something we can't do if we want to compete at a higher level. Plenty more to work on from here."
