Rabun Gap - Fairview 0

The Eagles were on the road again to square off versus the Eagles of Fairview. The ladies started off smooth as Milli Watts served the first 5 points with ease. Continuing the domination in the first set was 6th grader Carson Hill, who served in seven more points to give Rabun Gap a massive lead 13-4. Some ball control issues let Fairview back in the game, but RG wasn't about to let this one slip away as they stood strong towards the end with a solid kill by Hannah Jane Mellon to regain control. The Eagles then finished the job, winning set one 25-17. Milli Watts continued her domination in the second set, serving 10 straight service points, 9 of them being aces. 8th grader Isabella Martinez and 6th grader Zoey Killian were learning on the job midway through set two, and performed well through several volleys playing tough defense. The victory was pretty much sealed with Rabun Gap up 20-10, when Hannah Jane Mellon served in the final points of the set. The Rabun Gap Eagles went on to win set two 25-14, giving them their first victory of the season after so many close battles up to this point in the season. Coach BySura had this to say after the game, "It's nice to get our first win, especially since we've had just as many practices as we have had games. These girls deserve to feel good about this one, and I am excited for them. Several players got experience tonight, and everyone was learning. That's what it's all about."
