RCMF donation purchases new speakers for Rearden
New speakers in the Rearden Theater have been purchased and installed using a generous donation from the Rabun County Music Festival.
Thanks to a very generous donation from the Rabun County Music Festival Association, the Rearden Auditorium has four brand new Fulcrum Acoustic speakers.
The Rabun County Music Festival presented Rabun Gap with a generous gift to the performing arts program last January after closing out their final season in 2018.

The Rabun County Music Festival began in 1999 under the leadership of Gene Haywood and Sharon and John Hoppes. Since then, the group has been a major player in advancing the arts in Rabun County. The organization hosted their summer concert series in the Rearden Theater on campus, bringing in talent from across the region, including the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.
Fine and Performing Arts Deparment Chair Sean Lakey said the new speakers will greatly enhance performances in the Rearden Theater for the entire Rabun Gap community. The new speakers were installed at the beginning of this school year.
"We're so thankful for the Rabun County Music Festival Association's donation last year that allowed us to purchase the speakers for the Rearden Theater," Mr. Lakey said. "You can already notice a difference in the audio quality. This technology will help us continue to lead the way as we provide high-quality arts programming to the region."
The first major production to feature the new speakers is Rabun Gap's annual musical production, "Robber Bridegroom (a Southern Tall Tale Musical)" which opens on October 31.
