RG 0 - HS 2

It was a thrilling home opener for the Rabun Gap Eagles as they traded point for point with the Highlanders in both sets to the bitter end. Coming off just 4 full practices the eagles showed their potential to the sold out crowd. Milli Watts led the eagles by consistently garnering serving points and also covered tips and passes extremely well all night. New to volleyball, Taylor Nikerson proved that she has the potential to be the future for the Eagles by moving quickly to every pass and serving at 90%. Excellent play all around kept the eagles within striking range all evening, but the small errors late in each set kept adding the advantage to the opponents side as the Lady Eagles fell 20-25, 18-25. Coach BySura had this to say after the game. "Amazing effort and game after our short preparation timeline. Couldn't be happier with some of our first year players like Taylor, Hannah Jane, and Peyton. Our veterans stepped up to bat, and there wasn't an ounce of negativity on that court. Loved this start, even if we lost by a few."
