What a showing by the Lady Eagles as they traveled to take on county rival Tallulah Falls. The Eagles jumped to an early lead in the first set 5-1 on the sure handed serving and defense of Milli Watts. However, at points in the game, small mistakes started to mount for the Eagles. They regained their composure and Stella Vogelbacher solidified a 3 point lead after serving 5 straight points for the Eagles and the score stood at 23-20. The eagles were within reach of their first set win, but a jump server for Tallulah stumped the Eagles passing game and Tallulah tied it up at 23-23. LE Martin needed to make two serves to win the game and she delivered on both of them, but the ladies failed to capture the win on defense. Although we were within striking distance, and playing awesome, too many small mistakes would add up to a devastating loss late in the first set by a score of 28-26. After losing some steam and fundamental body positioning in the passing game, the eagles dropped the second set as well by a score of 14-25. Coach BySura had this to say after the game, "Great effort two days in a row by our ladies. It's a loss, but a major learning opportunity for them all. We were able to play 14 girls tonight between three sets of volleyball, and many haven't seen the game played at that speed before. I am pleased with the continued growth of Peyton Brady, one of our middle hitters, and all of our sixth graders were stars tonight as they scored 4 points combined. Loved seeing all those parents in the stands at an away event. What a team, and an amazing Rabun Gap family we have coming together to show these ladies support."
