Eagles football earns historic win over Franklin

Rabun Gap defeated Franklin 45-35 in the first win over the Panthers in program history.
When the Eagles traveled over the North Carolina state line to the Panther Pit on Friday, September 6, they had one goal in mind - hand Franklin High School its third straight loss of the season. And the team did just that. An exciting back-and-forth game ended with a 45-35 Rabun Gap victory.

This win was especially sweet for Head Coach Shawn Bryson, who grew up in Franklin and graduated from FHS. This is the first win over Franklin, a member of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association's Mountain Six conference, in the football program's history.

Rabun Gap is now 2-1 on the season and will travel to another North Carolina public school, Robbinsville High, on Friday, September 13. Game time is 7:30 PM. The next home game is scheduled for 4:30 PM, Friday, October 4 against Victory Christian. Click here to see the full  Eagles football schedule.
